Triple Gakuen Alice chapter, Skip Beat! freebie in HanaLaLa 25/2008
The three pledged chapters of Alice Academy by Higuchi Tachibana-sensei turn up for their appointed appearance in HanaLaLa 25/2008, as do the two chapters of Mr. Ermine AKA Okojosan by Uno Ayumi-sensei. The front cover, as well as the bonus sticker for this edition of Elex Media’s monthly serialization of Hakusensha Hana to Yume and LaLa shōjo manga, is Nakamura Yoshiki-sensei’s Skip Beat!
Contrary to expectation, no new series has taken over and filled the gap left by the conclusion of EMURA-sensei’s Michibata no Tenshi or Roadside Angel. Likewise going against established precedents, there’s only one full-color title page: for chapter 25 of Bijo ga Yaju by Matsumoto Tomo-sensei.

Trafficker 3 of 3, Hataraki Man 4, Japan Falling 1: Level Comics manga releases (29 April 2008)
Beginnings, endings, and in-betweens this 29 April 2008 Level Comics release. And as seinen and shōnen demographics are not my forte, here’s the manga release list post-haste…

Genjuu no Seiza 1, Parfait Tic 22 of 22, White Night Fantasia, Tokyo Deka 1: Elex Media manga releases (30 April 2008)
As previously advised, Akino Matsuri-sensei’s horror fantasy manga Genjuu no Seiza starts while Nanaji Nagamu-sensei’s Parfait Tic! ends in April 2008. I’m ambivalent over the latter shōjo romance drama featuring the Fuuko, Ichi, and Daiya love triangle—which I’ve been religiously following since 2003—actually concluding, but there you go.
Another series starting is the third of Taiwanese manga-ka Selena Lin Qing Hui’s Agreement of the Glass Shoe trilogy. Bai Ye Meng Huan Qu AKA White Night Fantasia also premieres this coming 30 April 2008. It’s not all shōjo debuts, however. The first volume of the shōnen series Tokyo Deka or Cop in Tokyo by Suzuki Keiichi-sensei will also start tankōbon installment.

Yume no Shiro by Tsuda Masami, Tonari no Hijiri-kun, Aoizaka High School Baseball Club 1, Sleepless Cinderella 1: m&c! manga (29 April 2008)
I’m thinking m&c!’s anticipating that I buy manga at the end of the month
will win the site poll, resulting in 14 manga releases for the last week of April—half of them new series and standalones. Of the seven, one is shōnen (Saikyou! Aoizaka Koukou Yakyuubu AKA Aoizaka High School Baseball Club by Tanaka Motoyuki-sensei), while the rest are shōjo (Cinderella wa Nemurenai; Hana no Namae; Itsuka, Kimi ga Ita; Tonari no Hijiri-kun) and the odd josei (Yayan no Kimochi).

Evangelion Iron Maiden the 2nd 3, Dai’s Attack 2, Cherry 23: m&c! manga and manhua releases (21 April 2008)
I guess it’s a good week if you’re a regular reader of the shōjo mangazine Cherry—the latest issue of this of Shogakukan Sho-Comi, Ciao, and Flower manga anthology (#23) is expected to release the week commencing 21 April 2008.*

La Corda D’Oro 2, Sennen no Yuki 1 & 2 for SGD 11.10 special (Chuang Yi latest manga releases)
The (irregular) Chuang Yi manga release list returns! Yeah, yeah, I’m late again with the advisory, but I can’t not list, especially as the second volume of La Corda D’Oro is already out. Did I mention that I prefer the CY translations? Well, I do.
Of equal importance (for the pocket, for someone who still hasn’t gotten them) is the fact that there’s a price-off on the two volumes of Hatori Bisco-sensei’s Sennen no Yuki or A Thousand Years of Snow (2 for SGD 11.10) and a 3 for SGD 18.80 offer on the first three volumes of Beyond the Beyond (it would otherwise cost some SGD 7.90 per tankoubon.)

Bokura ga Ita 12, Under the Sun, Fushigi Tsuhan Kerorindo, Panic x Panic 1: Elex manga and manhwa releases (23 April 2008)
After a really long absence, four popular shōjo manga-ka’s works reappear on the shelves: Obata Yuuki-sensei’s Bokura ga Ita (retitled Here we are, instead of the more usual We were there, for Indonesian distribution) continues with the much-awaited release of the 12th volume. We also get a standalone romance from Mizukami Wataru-sensei, a new paranormal series from Kawamura Mika-sensei, and the first of two volumes of Saito Chiho-sensei’s Koibitotachi no Basho.
